How do I check to see if my network connection is ok?

Ans: Open network neighborhood and try to view the rest of the network.  If you can see other computers then the connection is ok. If you cannot see other computers check to see that your physical network connection is OK. On some machines (laptops for ex) that may be as simple as checking to see if the green "link" light is on. If it is not notify your administrator.
